Best Haunted/Scary Events in Triangle

Best Haunted/Scary Events in Triangle

I'm trying to get some people together to check out one of those haunted attractions that are all over the radio. Anyone have any experience with them? What's worth it and what's not really worth it?

I've heard good things about the Clayton Fear Farm, so I'm looking there first unless someone has another cool suggestion.

Looking for any and all haunts, paranormal sights and legends, ghost tales, and weird places in the triangle. Include links if you can. Also an exact location if possible. Once I put it together lets set up a triangle Reddit ghost tour one Saturday! Stopping by a few locals breweries too of course!

Just bought a house in Cary. How many trick-or-treaters to expect?

Just bought a house in Cary. How many trick-or-treaters to expect?

Just bought a house near Dorothy Park. Having been in apartments for the last few years, I'm excited about maybe getting some trick or treaters, but have no idea what to expect. I heard that Cary got rated one of the best trick or treat cities in America. Any idea what I might be looking at? 10 kids? 50? 300?

Regarding the silent sam statue

Regarding the silent sam statue

I was watching the news last night when I saw people protesting the Silent Sam statue and I started wondering about a few things.

  1. The statue is a memorial for students who had fought and died in the civil war. The protesters were students. Could they replace the statue with a memorial for students who got TV time for protesting?

  2. Some of the protesters were wearing shirts with a tarheel logo. All of the students enrolled at a school who's nickname was from a civil war generals term for Carolinians who refused to flee the battlefield. Maybe the new name should be more representative of the current students, something like, I don't know, the A-holes?

  3. Could we start a protest to change the name of DH Hill Library? It was named after a descendant of a civil war officer and from from Virginia. Gawd forbid!

What’s the best place to buy electronics supplies in the Triangle?

What’s the best place to buy electronics supplies in the Triangle?

I am talking about hobbyist level things, like decent soldering irons, desoldering braid, loose resistors/capacitors/transistors, etc. Lowes/ Home depot don't carry anything beyond a single crappy soldering iron, and all the Radioshacks are closed, even though they barely had anything by the end but RC cars and burner phones. Is there anywhere local I can find this sort of thing? Maybe a good local hardware store? I know I could just order from digikey, but I'm in the middle of something and don't want to wait two days.
