Advice on finding a job.

I'm from the Raleigh area but relocated a few years back. I'm desperate to come home but I'm having an annoyingly hard time finding a job. At least one that pays enough I can afford rent. My job history is varied and I'm worried that's a problem. I've most recently been in retail management, but I also have experience in customer service, food, childcare and office management. Something with regular hours would be ideal because I'm planning on going back to school. Preferably an office job or a nanny position. I'm 31 and a lady if that matters. Any suggestions on where to look? I'm also wondering if I should avoid mentioning I'm trying to relocate and just use my boyfriend's Raleigh address instead of my current one.

Using Uber to get to/from RDU?

What's the latest on using Uber to get to and from RDU? I've taken Uber from the airport, but we've always met up in the parking garage in a kind of sketchy way. I've read that RDU was letting some uber drivers into the airport – has anyone taken one recently to RDU? I just don't want to put my Uber driver in a position to get into trouble.

Do you know any really dark places around here for watching the meteor shower?

Hi! I want to watch the geminid shower on Sunday, but I only have time to drive maybe an hour or so (I'm set up for winter camping, so I could spend the night). Do you know any spots that'll be super dark and great for stargazing? Thanks!

The Goathouse Refuge

Hello, I volunteer at the Goathouse Refuge from time to time, and I am posting here to raise some awareness of it. It is located in pittsboro NC and treats all animals they take in with exceptional care. It is so beautiful and the over 300 cats they house are able to walk around freely throughout the day. I have yet to see such good care for cats. Unfortunately, they rely primarily on donations to run the place, and are usually facing large amounts of debt. Please help out anyway you can so the goathouse can keep raising various animals. link: http://www.goathouserefuge.org/

Gamers of the Triangle, I need your help

I'm an entrepreneur living in Durham, and i need some crucial feedback from the gamers in the area, and this seems like a good place to start! The venture would be a game center / LAN lounge. If you don't know what that is, it's okay. A LAN lounge is a location where you and your friends can play video games with each other, a la the old school way. You would be able to play the latest and newest gaming releases as well as take a trip down memory lane and play classic oldies, on console and PC. If this sounds like a place you'd be interested in, please take this quick survey, it'll help me gather information on how to fine tweak the concept before continuing! http://goo.gl/forms/Sso6aM5sPe

Holiday Charity Reddit event for the Triangle?

Hey /r/Triangle! Tis the season, and as we haven't had a meetup for awhile, I was thinking of organizing a habitat build or a homeless shelter feeding (some kind of charity related event) over the next few months and wanted to see if any other folks would be interested. We're a community just as much as any other in the area, so it would be great if we could give back to those in need. 🙂 Just wanted to gauge interest and see who's interested! Edit: Awesome! I work with Habitat fairly often, and the Oak City Outreach to help do food drives when I can volunteer the time. I'll set up a poll for interest and we can all figure out what we want to do, together!

Post ID: 23144

Background. In a previous pilot study, adrenal suppression was found to be common after antiemetic dexamethasone therapy in cancer patients. The objective of this large prospective multicenter study was to confirm the incidence and factors associated with secondary adrenal suppression related to antiemetic dexamethasone therapy in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy.Methods.Chemotherapy-naive patients who were scheduled to receive at least three cycles of highly or moderately emetogenic chemotherapy with dexamethasone as an antiemetic were enrolled. Patients with a suppressed adrenal response before chemotherapy or those administered corticosteroids within 6 months of enrollment in the study were excluded.Results.Between October 2010 and August 2014, 481 patients receiving chemotherapy underwent the rapid adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation test to assess eligibility; 350 of these patients were included in the final analysis. Fifty-six patients (16.0%) showed a suppressed adrenal response in the rapid ACTH stimulation test at 3 or 6 months after the start of the first chemotherapy. The incidence of adrenal suppression was affected by age, performance status, stage, and use of megestrol acetate in univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis revealed that secondary adrenal suppression associated with antiemetic dexamethasone therapy was significantly associated with megestrol acetate treatment (odds ratio: 3.06; 95% confidence interval: 1.60 to 5.86; p < .001).Conclusion.This large prospective study indicates that approximately 15% of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy with a normal adrenal response show suppressed adrenal responses after antiemetic dexamethasone therapy. This result was particularly significant for patients cotreated with megestrol acetate.Implications for PracticeThis large prospective multicenter study indicates that approximately 15% of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy with a normal adrenal response show secondary adrenal suppression after antiemetic dexamethasone therapy. Adrenal suppression was particularly significant for patients cotreated with megestrol acetate. Clinicians need increased awareness of the potential for adrenal insufficiency secondary to antiemetic dexamethasone therapy in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy. These findings should help encourage prospective studies designed to determine the adequate doses and durations of antiemetic dexamethasone therapy required to reduce dexamethasone-related adverse effects while controlling chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
